Feedback from 77 entities, spanning DNOs, IDNOs, renewable energy developers, local authorities, electric vehicle companies, digital services companies, storage developers, investors, consultancy firms, generators, and trade associations, has contributed to the positive response. The stakeholders, endorsing the proposed changes, emphasized the importance of robust connection applications, addressing stalled projects, and reducing speculative applications. Key areas of focus include ensuring capacity feasibility, maintaining land rights through enduring obligations, and enhancing entry requirements. The stakeholders’ valuable input has played a crucial role in shaping Ofgem’s Connections Action Plan (CAP), which incorporates specific actions like the ‘Letter of Authority’ proposal for transmission and measures to improve entry requirements and project management in the queue.
